CHRISTIAN FORMATION: Catechists are still needed for a number of teaching positions. Please see the bulletin for more details about how you can help with passing on our Catholic Faith. For more information about volunteering, contact Teresa Ritzert, Coordinator of Religious Education, by calling 295-6559 or via email at tritzert@holycomforterparish.org.
WORSHIP: Greeters are needed for the 5:00 PM Saturday mass and the 8:30 AM Sunday mass. Training is provided. For more information, call Jim Morrisard at 973-6570 or, call the parish office at 295-7185.
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS: The next meeting of the Knights of Columbus will be Monday, September 17th at the Stone Chapel on the grounds of the Church of the Incarnation (located behind Toys 'R' Us on Route 29). The recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:15 PM followed by the business meeting at 7:30 PM. Plan to come and bring a brother Knight. NOTE: If you are interested in becoming a knight or learning more about the Knights of Columbus, call Jim Morrisard, Tom O'Rourke, or Joe Murray.
BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP: The continuing discussion of Pope Benedict's book, Jesus of Nazareth, will meet Friday, September 21st at 2 PM at Barbara Morin's house. New members are invited. Call 973-7721 for directions and/or any additional information.
HAITIAN RETREATS: Two diocesan immersion retreats to Haiti are being planned for 2007/2008. The trips are designed for individuals to be immersed into Haiti by giving them the opportunity to learn about its history, culture, economics, politics and religion and to begin establishing relationships with the people of Haiti. Taking this trip to Haiti is not a tourist visit but rather it is a pilgrimage. It is the carving out in our lives a holy space and time to be open to the gifts of Haiti and the transformation of God. The first trip will be Dec. 1-9 2007 and the second will be July 12 - 19 2008. FOOD PANTRY: The monthly food collection will resume in October. In the meantime, please continue to be generous and drop off non-perishable food and toilet articles to help those in our community who are in need.
