Prayer Intentions for October

Pope Benedict XVI at the Canonization of Maria Bernarda Buetler, 2008Souls without prayer are like people whose bodies or limbs are paralyzed: they posses feet and hands but they cannot control them. In the same way there are souls so infirm and so accustomed to busying themselves with outside affairs that they seem incapable of entering into themselves at all. - St. Teresa of Avila

The Holy Father's prayer intentions for October are:

General:   That Catholic Universities may more and more be places where, in the light of the Gospel, it is possible to experience the harmonious unity existing between faith and reason.

Mission:   That the World Mission Day may afford an occasion for understanding that the task of proclaiming Christ is an absolutely necessary service to which the Church is called for the benefit of humanity.

Pro-Life Prayer Intention

That citizens may exercise their duty to vote in a way that advances the Culture of Life.
